Answer #1

The following test on Micrococcus Roseus:

You have to include following points in your lab report, why the test is performed, what are their outcomes and how this outcomes help you to identify the nature of microbes.

Gram staining: in gram staining, microbes are found to be gram positive. It means bacteria have thick peptidoglycan in their cell wall which allow to retain crystal violet and appears purple in colour.

Catalase test: this test helps to determine whether our bacteria is streptococcus or staphylococcus in shape. The positive caltase test tells that bacteria is of staphylococcus nature.

Positive catalase tells that bacteria has catalase enzyme which leads to evolution of oxygen when hydrogen per oxide is added to bacteria.

MSA test: It stands for mannitol agar test. In this bacteria is grown in mannitol sugar contain agar to find whether the microbes are pathogenic or not. The negative test depicts that bacteria is not pathogenic in nature because high concentration of sodium chloride do not allow to grow other bacteria in this media. It also confirm the staphylococcus nature.

Result: our Micrococcus Roseus having thick peptidoglyacn and staphylococcus in nature and bacteria can not grow in high salt stress.
