Question

Greetings,

I need help with these questions. I will give a good rating depending if it is the correct answer.

Use Figure 4 to answer Pre-Lab Questions 1 and 2. Figure 4: Light (indicated by the arrow) traveling through three materials A, B and C. 1. Rank the index of refraction in each of the materials from highest to lowest. If two quantities are equal, denote they are equal with an equal sign Highest Lowest 2. Rank the speed of light in each of the materials from fastest to slowest. If two quantities are equal, denote they are equal with an equal sign. Fastest Slowest

Answer #1

1. Light is bendimg towards the normal in medium B, therefore medium B should have more refractive index, while ligh ray in medium A & C are parallel, so they should have same refractive index

Answer: B > A = C

2. Based on refractive index.

Answer : A = C > B

I need the correct answer in order to give full rating. Thanks In the figure to the right, M2 has more mass than M1 and M1 has more mass than M3. The questions refer to the magnitudes of tensions and weights. There is friction between the horizontal plane and M2 (mu_k not equal to 0). M2 is observed to travel at a constant speed. Assume that the pulleys are frictionless and have negligible mass. Select the appropriate symbol for each...

water interface (the surface of the lake), it is partly reflected back into the air and partly refracted or transmitted into the water. This explains why on the surface of a lake sometimes you see the reflection of the surrounding landscape and other times the underwater vegetation. These effects on light propagation occur because light travels at different speeds depending on the medium. The index of refraction of a material, denoted by n, gives an indication of the speed of...
