1) r = 0.88 there is stong positive association between two variables

2) r= -0.2 there is weak negative association between two variables

Here the casuse and effect relationship between 2 related variables . the variables independent x and dependent y

are less subject to there interpreatations as they do not storongly imply the cause and effect relationship
