Is this a true statement? Please Explain.

Cause and effect relationship cannot be based on the slope of regression equation. The regression is about correlation relationship between the variables. cause and effect relationship is known by the parameters of context, qualitative measures, confounding variables. Regression equation is obtained using quantitative data and is confined to the data.

Answer #1

Ans:

The above statement is True.

Regression and correlation are based on observational data,so correlation does not mean causation. For establishing causation,we conduct experiments,we modify the treatment levels to see the change in response variable.
