Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words: Describe the personality factors and other individual differences that you think are important to being a successful team member of (1) a traditional work team; (2) a self- managed team; and (3) a virtual team.

Traditional Work team:

• Team members should be open to working in a hierarchy based system.
• Team members should be good at relationship building, as they have to keep on interacting with the others in their team.
• Team members should be good at working on the instructions given by the Team leader.

Self Managed Team:

• Team members should be owners of their jobs.
• Team members should be self-starters and entrepreneurial in nature, as only they are responsible and accountable for their job.
• Team members should have the ability to make quick decisions.
• Team members should be self-motivated and should not require any instructions to get going.

Virtual Team:

• Team members should be able to collaborate across geographical and cultural boundaries.
• Team members should be disciplined and good time managers as they need to align with other team members who may spread across the globe.
• Team members should be able to learn new technologies, as working in a Virtual team requires extensive technology usage.
• Team members should be trustworthy and be able to trust other team members, as there shall be no face-to-face interactions between the team members. An environment of trust is therefore essential for a virtual team to operate successfully.
