Here

72 67 150, p2 = 180 P1 150 0.446667, n1 0.4, n2 180

The test statistic can be written as

Pi P2 Pi (1-pi) P2+(1-p2) n2 which under H0 follows a standard normal distribution.

We reject H0 at 0.1 level of significance if Zobs 20.1

Now,

The value of the test statistic 0.854718 Zobs

and critical value critical 20,1 =-1.28155

Since =-1.28155 0.854718Zeritical Zobs , so we fail to reject H0 at 0.1 level of significance.

Conclusion : A) Do not reject H0. There is insufficient evidence to support the statement that H1 is true.

b) p-value =P(Z s) = P(Z < 0.854718 (0.854718)=0.803646

Since P-value > 0.1, so we fail to reject H0 at 0.1 level of significance.

Conclusion : A)Do not reject H0. There is insufficient evidence to support the statement that H1 is true.
