Photovolatic which includes the usase of solar energy is a clean source of energy and is inceasing its demand in world scenario due to its decreasing cost of utilization. Photovoltaic cells has been used in specialized application since from earlier times.Advances in technology and increased rate of production has reduced the cost, increased the reliability and increased the efficiency of photovoltaic installation. PV is the third largest source of energy in terms of global capacity after hydro and the wind energy.

1) Application of solar photovoltaic on roof tops.This can account for majority of installation over roofs of houses and industries.Prices of roof tops PV has been decreased in recent years.This cost effectiveness is the result of rectuction in technology prices and growing networks of solar installers.

2)Use of solar trackers.If PV panels are installed with a solar tracker then its efficiency will get increased.Solar trackers moves Solar panels to follow sun.This increase can be as much as 20 percent in winter and almost 50 percent in summer.

3)Development of inexpensive materials that can replace crystal silicon which is used in solar cells.Perovskite is an inexpensive material which can be used to replace expensive silicon.This material efficiency is being tested and claims to be used in solar panel in future.

4)Large installation. Currently prices of conventional sources of power is less than the solar power.However generation of solar power in large megawatts by increasing the number of solar parks for generation of electricity has resulted in decline of price of solar energy than conventional sources in some countries.Competition among industries has been increased in production of solar power and more competition is going to be increased.

5)Incresing the number of applications.Currently Solar cell is being used for generation of electricity for household usage.However its application can be increased further by its usage in solar powered vechicles,Solar pumps and solar heater,telecommunication and signaling and for making of solar powered aircrafts and speciality power system such as heterogeneous cumbustors.
