Answer #1

Our own personal values and beliefs can greatly affect our responses to other people, For example, if I firmly believe that only hard work will bring success, I will tend to look down upon anyone who does not work hard. In addition, I will be puzzled when someone succeeds without much hard work. Similarly if one has a fixed mindset instead of growth mindset, the person's performance would be very limited with very little scope for improvement. Another example would be, if a person has prejudices against homosexual people, then they would be threatened and feel uncomfortable whenever they face such a person.

Negativity will have serious effects on the productivity of a team, product or process. It is better to weed out this trait as soon as it is found in an organization. For example, if a manager imposes his ideas on others without consulting them and without showing any regard for their feelings, the employees would resent him and the productivity of the company will be affected solely because of this behavior of the manager. Similarly, if a company knowingly accepts a project that it very difficult to deliver, then the organization would be inviting negativity and uncalled for burden on the employees leading to poor outcomes. Similarly if employees are uncomfortable regarding certain aspects of a company and if the company ignores these aspects, it is indirectly breeding negativity which most certainly will lead to undesirable results. Ego issues, low performance standards, ambiguous goals and objectives will also lead to negativity in an organization.
