What is the Leontief paradox? Describe the factors that have been found to resolve it?
The heckscher ohlin model proposed that a country which is relatively labor abundant will export relatively labour intensive goods and vice versa. However Leontief found that US being relatively capital abundant were exporting relatively labour intensive goods contrary to HO model.
The most important resolution is that the goods which were labour intensive, as considered by Leontief, were actually capital intensive if the humna capital embodied in them were considered.

What is the “addiction paradox?” Describe several factors (physical, psychological, behavioral, etc.) that might account for the paradox of continued substance use despite problems.
Leontief's paradox is an example of testing a trade model using actual data observations. If Leontief had observed that the amount of labor needed per $1 million of U.S. exports was 100 person-years instead of 182. Would he have reached the same conclusion? Explain.

The factor-endowment theory predicts that because the United States is relatively abundant in capital and relatively scarce in labor, it will export capital-intensive goods, and its import-competing goods will be labor intensive. In the 1950s, Wassily Leontief, a Russian-American economist, tested this proposition by analyzing the capital/labor ratios of export industries and import-competing industries, using U.S. data. He found that the capital/labor ratio for U.S. export industries was lower than that...
