Answer #1

1. Yes the earth will look like same as today. With in 3 decades the shape of the earth may not go for so many changes. Because of as given one place mountains start building and other side those will erode same way geo dynamic processes keep the earth crust stable due to the subduction at trenches and new crust formation at ridges. Due to the frequent or repeated actions the earth will look like a same as today in 2050.

2. The distance between Mount St. Helens in Washington State erupted violently in 1980. The Loma Prieta earthquake in California occurred in 1989. points is 1230km. I think there may be no connection between these two events.

Because Mount St. Helens in Washington State formed along the Juan de Fuca plate due to this plate subducting with North American plate. Loma Prieta earthquake in California located on San Andreas Fault. Because of different plate boundaries there may be no connection between two events and the distance is 1000 more km for two events and the time period between two events is 9 years. So I am thinking two events have no connection.

Generally subucting plate volcanic events ate common and at transform fault boundary earthquakes are common due to more energy buildup. So these events are naturally occurring events because of their plate boundaries characteristics.
