What are the components of water potential and what factors influence each factor? (be sure to outline the equation for water potential, and describe factors influencing each)
Water potential is a measure of the potential energy in water, or the difference in potential energy between a given water sample and pure water, when atmospheric pressure and temperature are kept the same.. There are 3 components in water potential namely:
(1) Pressure potential: is the difference between pressure of the water and that of the atmosphere;
(2) Osmotic pressure (solute potential): refers to the reduction in water potential due to the presence of dissolved solutes; and
(3) Matric Potential (in soil): affects adhesion of sticking water to soil surfaces. This shows how likely it is water to becomes unstruck.
(4) gravitational potential: force of gravity pulling on the water
So, total water potential is given by:
Total water potential = matric potential + osmotic/solute potential+ pressure/turgor potential+gravitational potential
Factors affecting water potential:
Concentration or chemical potential: Water will diffuse from a dilute solution to concentrated solution (osmosis)
Pressure (mechanical potential): water will flow from a high pressure system to a low pressure system.
Height (gravitational potential):water flows downhill
Charge (electrical potential): may be ignore since water is uncharged.

Problem 1: What are the key factors that control oxygen dissolution into a water body? Describe the influence of each factor on increase or decrease of oxygen content in water.
What are the factors that influence organizational structure? Find and describe a specific example of how each factor influenced structure (can be all four influencing one organization’s structure or you can find different organizations for examples of each).
06, (2096) A group of students have performed an experiment where they investigate how the factors: amount of water (factor A) and amount of light (factor B) influence the growth of a certain plant. Two amounts of water and two amounts of light are used, and four replicates for each treatment combination are run. The results are as follows: Amount of Water Amount of Light Amount of Water Amount of Light 15 12 15 12 10 2 a) Determine the...

10) (4) Several factors influence the size of the F-ratio (that is, Fos). Some factors influence the numerator and others influence the denominator. For each of the following, indicate (by circling your choice) whether the factor influences the numerator denominator of the F-ratio and determine whether the effect would be to increase the value of F (farther from zero) or decrease the value of F (closer to zero). In each case, assume that all other factors remain constant. a. (2)...
