Many organisms in tropical forest use sound to communicate with each other. The primary form of communication within terrestrial organisms such as mammals, birds. frogs, insects is acoustic signaling. Sound is used for communicating and it consumes energy and time which convey warnings, coordinate group behaviors, attract mates, defends, etc.
Birds produce birdsong by which vocalizations long and melodic and tend to be common among the members of a species.
When any predator is near then monkeys cry out a warning that giving the other members of the troop a chance to escape from there.
Another example is Gibbons who use calls to mark their territory to keep away the competitors. A paired female and male and even their offspring may make the calls together.
