Teyber spoke about personal centric psychotherapy and Yalom spoke about the interpersonal group dynamic psychotherapy. The chief difference between the two therapy modalities is that the former depends on circumventing the issues of the client through a personal session and focusing only on the context of the individual and their life.
Whereas Yalom, along with his group centered approach, focuses on a relatively homogenous group (with respect to a given behavior or problem) and seeks to intertwine varied experiences of different people and use those to help each of person gain an added perspective from the other people.
The group therapy in this respect seemed to boast highly of real work narrative it provides an individual insight into the real world of complex social ties and how one sifts through them. This component is lost in individual therapy as the person is centered around one tie, which is between the therapist and the client.
However, in individual centered therapy there is a scope of looking much deeper into the self and introspecting from various standpoints, which enables an individual to be attentive to their personal narrative and their specific role within the same.
