1) Mastication is defined as a process of chewing and tearing of food mixing it with the saliva forming the bolus.

2) digestion of starch begins in the mouth by the activities of enzyme salivary amylase which result in The breakdown of starch into dextrins , isomaltose , maltose.

3) deglutition is a process of transfer of the Saliva mixed food known as bold as from the mouth to the stomach through the the oesophagus.

4) The entry of food into the stomach is protected by a Sphincter known as the lower esophageal sphincter. It act as a gatekeeper or guard for the entry of food into stomach into stomach.  

5) enzymes like pepsin begin to digest protein. Digestion of proteins takes place in the stomach by the conversion of inactive form pepsinogen into pepsin in the presence of highly acidic pH by hydrochloric acid .

6) pH increase in the small intestine by the bicarbonate secreted from the pancreas which is important for the activation of trypsin and chymotrypsin which activates at alkaline pH.

7) Activation of lipase to digest triglycerides. Triglycerides are the the form of fat which is digested by lipase enzyme and is break down into monoglycerides , diglycerides and fatty acids.

8) long chain fatty acids get absorbed in the small intestine by the lymph vessels known as lacteals through the formation of chylomicrons .

9) flatus is produced. The gas is produced from the digestion from the micro organism such as ecoli. present in the small intestine which is released.

10) parasympathetic defecation reflex stimulated which result in the relaxation of the internal anal sphincter which is involuntary in nature and result in the the excretion of feces from the end part of alimentary canal.
