According to me, the Oglivy's opinion related to the advertising that it doesn't influence a society's accpeted customs and attitudes, It merely reflects the values that are present already and true. Different societies possess different cultural beliefs, values, rules, way of living and so on.. And also they use products and services which are in some manner connected with those cultural beliefs and values and also advertising can't influence them to change with the beliefs and values but it can motivate them to purchase products or services which their customs and also traditions allow, For instance, In a nation like India majority of the people belongs to Hindu religion and several fast foos companies such as Burger king, Domino's, Pizza Hut and so on.. have tried to advertise their vast non- vegetarian varieties of fast food and also non consumption of the non vegetarian food. These companies have tried a lot to influence the customers through their advertising campaigns in order to promote the non vegetarian food but have failed to sucees since the cultural beliefs and practices of the Hindu population don't follow them to intake the non vegetarian food.
