Their are defferent disabilities they include learning disability,ADHD,psychiatric disorders .When persons have disability they are more likely to learn faster if they are adults.Among the disabilities about thirty percentage of the persons have learning disability.Learning disabilityinclude dyslexia(severe difficulty in reading) ,dSysgraphia(severe difficulty in writing).

Disabilities can affect

1.sound processing

2.language

3.visual spatial perception

4.speed

5.memory

6.Attention

Strategies for effective instruction

Be clear and explicit

  • Break your instruction into small, manageable pieces.
  • Demonstrate or model what you are teaching.
  • Guide your learners in practicing new learning.
  • Give specific feedback.
  • Allow independent practice.
  • Gradually remove support (scaffolding).

Give intensive instruction

  • Give instruction on the same topic for a longer period (can be broken up into shorter sessions).
  • Allow time for teaching individually or in small groups.
  • Engage your learners: frequently ask questions that elicit interactions, physical responses, or reflection and thought.

Give extensive instruction

  • Identify key words and ideas.
  • Review frequently.
  • Explicitly teach vocabulary and recycle frequently: a learner needs to meaningfully engage with a word at least twelve times to learn it.

Teach strategies for reading, writing, and learning

  • Teach how to approach tasks.
  • Teach ways to learn.
  • Teach steps for planning, performing, and reflecting on learning.

Plan learning activities,assignments, and exams

1.Plan assignments so that the students can acheive the goals in different ways.All students donot nedd to do the same activity in order to reach a particular learning goal

2.Assignments and materials should be universal in design .That it should be comprehendable to every person with disabilities

3.Use multiple formats for instruction.students learn in different ways .Use oral,verbal,textual, and kinesthetic means to engage all students

4.Open to alternative assignments

For example some students have difficulty in public speaking .Where possible these students have to be given less intimidating circumstances
