Field coding

Field coding is the practice of coding the data at the data collection point itself. It is different from the office coding where the data coding will take place only later.

The strength of Field coding compared to coding after data collection

The biggest strength of field coding is that it saves a lot of time in research as coding takes place simultaneously with data collection.

The weakness of Field coding compared to coding after data collection

The biggest weakness of field coding is that many errors could occur during the field coding process.
