To reduce the occurrences of unsafe acts by employees, following actions may be appropriate.

(i) Identification of areas where accidents can happen, and putting up warning signs.

(ii) Identification of common mistakes made by the employees and designing standard ooperating procedures to avoid those practices.

(iii) Providing training to the employeees for safe operation.

(iv) Conducting surprise safety audits and share the findings with defaulters and their departmental heads. Using training intervations to eliminate bad behaviour.

(v) Communicating repetetively about the bad habits and how they can be avoided. Developing a culture of safety.

b. Supervisor acts as a guide, trainer, observer and vigilant person to identify, check and correct the unsafe behavioir. He /she also probes the areas of safety breach and reduce the chances of safety breach by training employees, correcting process or replacing faulty machine parts to eliminate the chances.He /she also helps to create a conducive environment for safe operations and establishing a culture of safety.
