In the starch hydrolysis test ,test bacteria grown on agar plate which contains starch .when organism hydrolyse starch there is no changing of colour occurs in the medium then iodine is added as a reagent to detect the presence of starch . Iodine make comolex with starch and gives blue colour in the culture medium.
