Turn Your Mobile Phone Off Another pretty simple basic interview protocol, but you would be shocked to see how many candidates neglect it. I was directly involved in an interview when a candidate did respond seven times to her phone. I wasn't either amused or intrigued, it just showed an utter lack of respect for any Interviewer.
Firm handshake: This is another non-verbal way to communicate with others. It seems odd to be judged negatively by a sloppy handshake, but others do it all the time. However, be careful with this advice. You don't want your handshake to be too firm, especially if a man shakes hands with a woman. You don't want to see yourself as vulnerable and anxious and you certainly don't want to be confrontational and overpowering. Smile, be careful, and don't hang on for too long, note, it makes practice great!
Proper Body Language: Poor body language is one of the most off-putting blunders in interviews. The interviewer just doesn't have too much to go on when making their final decision. Chances are they'll only get to meet you once or twice before hiring and that means they'll be scrutinizing your every move during the interview. In the interview, your body language will betray some of your feelings, so if you can take control of your body, it could go a long way to smashing the interview.

This interview method is especially useful if you want to test the communication and social skills of your candidates. Video Conferencing: Video conferences are nothing new but recruiters are seeking new ways to incorporate them into the recruiting process as technology progresses. Live video interviews, of course, allow you to screen remote candidates with more warmth and familiarity than a phone call, but the benefits are clear: busy passive candidates can spend time recording when it's convenient for them, anxious candidates can be more confident, and recruiters can see thousands of candidates efficiently within a few hours.
