Answer #1

The total mechanical energy is written as

E = K+ U

where K is the kinetic energy and U is the potential energy. For E to be conserved from initial state Ei to final state Ef we must have

E_i = E_f

K_i + U_i = K_f + U_f

option second is correct

    The principle of Energy conservation states that the Energy that flows in equals the Energy that flows out (unless energy is stored). So, if you consume 2000 Calories in one day, at what rate are you radiating energy out? Please put your answer in Watts and the answer should also be equal to 5.5 BTU/min. Please show all work if possible and any assumptions if you had to make any.
