What is the distinction between project end-item and project side-items? What role does the project manager have regarding each?

A project has a quantifiable objective or reason, and all-around characterized end-items, expectations, or results, generally determined as far as cost, calendar, and performance prerequisites. The general arrangement for the production/construct stage should represent frameworks, assignments, and assets that will be expected to create, work, and keep up the end-item framework, and to prepare client faculty; these project "side-items," purported to recognize them from the primary agreement end-item of the project. Side-items are no less significant than the principle end-item; truth be told, without them it is difficult to deliver, work, or keep up the end-item. Albeit side-items are typically evolved and delivered by subcontractors, the manager of the general project is answerable for guaranteeing they have all been distinguished, that contractual workers are creating and delivering them, and they will be prepared for utilization when the primary end-item has been finished.

The end-item in a business project is an unmistakably characterized product or service, regularly tweaked to fulfill a client, and spurred by profit standards. The project manager for the most part controls the project through as long as its can remember cycle, organizing endeavors of the project group with useful territories, subcontractors, and vendors, and keeping the client and top administration educated regarding progress toward project and profit destinations. When the project is finished, the project group is broken down and the project manager is conceivably out of a vocation. Along these lines, some project managers are ceaselessly attempting to "propagate their reality" through planning recommendations and searching out new projects, which may surface as expansions to existing projects or as moves up to applications from previous projects.

What is contract administration?

From the time when the contract is signed until when the project is closed out or terminated the contractual agreement must be managed, which means keeping the agreement up to date with respect to ongoing changes in the project the customers needs and the contractor's capability’s capability and checking that all work conforms with the agreement. This process is called contract administration.

What are the three phases of the project monitoring and control process?

Project monitoring involves collecting data, interpreting it, and reporting information. The data collected must relate directly to project performance standards i.e to project plans, outputs, schedules, budgets, and requirements. Typical sources of data include materials purchasing invoices, worker time cards, change notices, test results, purchase and work orders and expert opinion. A balance must be struck in the quantity and variety of data collected, too much data will be costly to collect and analyze, too little will not adequately capture the project status and will allow problems to go unchecked. The data must be analyzed and the results reported quickly and frequently enough to enable managers to quickly spot deviations from the plan and take corrective action.
