Answer #1

The disruptive company that is referred here is Apple Inc. Initially, Apple started off as a premium priced computer company however they are one of the disruptive companies in today’s world because of their introduction of iPod. Without iPod, people will not find better ways of carrying music with them. This mobility made them to innovate smart phones. They were the first to create touch-screen mobile devices. It is only because of Apple that we are scrolling through our mobile devices today. In addition to this, there was mass-production of such touch-screen mobile phones to meet the sudden spike in customer demand. Apple now plays an integral role in the lives of people by carrying our own personal computer with us wherever we go.

Apple is a new-market disruption because the products (iPod or iPhone) create a new emerging market that is not seen by the existing competitors in the industry. In contrary to low-end disruption, Apple products are based on premium pricing even today.

Apple is now in the Late Majority stage of the disruptive curve because most of the customers are convinced about the technology and participate in buying them. Technology has become part of the peoples’ lives because of Apple.
