1. APA writing provides a clear and understandable form for complex topics. It helps in giving credibility by citing the work. It follows a uniformity which makes the work look professional and formal. Academic writing should be clear, giving the direct meaning of the written material and consistent. APA helps in delivering the writing with all these features. It helps students in using proper vocabulary, grammar, punctuation and structure for writing. It helps in getting a uniform structure in all the writings submitted by the scholars.

The minute details such as margins, font type and size, page numbering, headers, charts and tables and citations and references are all done in a uniform manner. This helps in assessing information and comparing the work of everyone. The APA format helps in making the work credible and legitimate. Objective writing, references and in-text citations help in verifying information which can prove its authenticity. It also helps in checking on plagiarism which makes the work very authentic and transparent. This helps students to save from rejection of work due to doubt of plagiarism.

2. To adhere to APA standards one must follow the three strategies which are:

- Improving writing skills- Writing skills are very important when creating material of APA format. It requires certain objective writing and certain norms to be followed which can be effectively done when the person is having good writing skills. He will be able to express himself clearly and consistently if he knows how to put his work into words. Hence developing good writing skills is essential.

- Professional peer review- The student can improve their work by getting it peer-reviewed by a professional. The professional can assess the written work and point out any weakness which can thus be improved. This also helps in evaluating the quality, genuineness and value of work before publication and learn the important rules to maintain this quality.

- APA checklist- Making a checklist of errors that can be made in an APA writing will help the writer to check all the items on it and make sure that they are avoided. It will provide a surveillance method for assessing your own work. The formats, citations, grammar, vocabulary, and spellings can als be checked through this list thus making the work error-free and adhering to the APA format.
