RETINOIDS-. It is a class of medication that are chemically derived from vitamin A and have been extensively used for treatment of many skin disorder like acne , skin aging and certain types of cancer.
1. Acne Treatment - Retinoids helps in unclogging blocked pore , where Retinoids acts as comedolytic agents . It work synergistically with antibiotics to allow them to enter the pore and eradicate the bacteria causing acne breakout. 55% of patients with acne are treated by topical Retinoids therapy.
2. PIGMENTARY DISORDERS -. Retinoids are used for treatment of these PIGMENTARY disorder as monotherapy or in combination with other topical medication.
3. PSORLASIS - Retinoids decreases inflammation and restore the normal epidermal differentiation.
4. Retinoids are very effective in slowly and preventing photo ageing due to UV exposure.
PRECAUTIONS-.
1. Wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and protective clothing.
2. Not to use more of Retinoids or not to use it more frequently. It should be used as prescribed by physician.
3. Use a moisturizer along with topical Retinoids .
