SourceForge is one of the leading and largest repositories for open source software worldwide. It contains a variety of categories of Java APIs and applications that can be used or extended. Review an application or API and comment on it
APPLICATION-> HIBERNATE
COMMENT:
It is an ORM(Object/Relational Mapper) tool. It use Java
Persistence API and very popular among java applications.
Application whose data outlives the application process can be more
easily write by the developers using Hibernate.
It is also responsible for data persistence using java data base
connectivity(JDBC).
Some features of hibernate are:
1) Scalable: It works in an application server
cluster which makes it highly scalable. Example can be used in
in-house
intranet serving 100 of users as well as for mission-critical
applications serving hundreds of thousands of users.
2) Reliable: It is reliable because it is very stable and a high quality application used by numerous java developers.
3) Extensible: It is extensible and highly configurable.
4) Persistence: It helps you to build persistent classes for which it requires no interface or any other class. It makes every class or a data structure persistent. You don't need to write an extra code for making the classes persistent as it provides jdbc internally.
5) Provide Java Persistence API(JPA): In addition to it's own "Native API", Hibernate also supports the JPA. It can be used within any environmet which supports JPA i.e Java EE(Enterprise Edition) application servers.
Hope this may help you
Thank you ??
