Answer #1

Two events A and B are said to be independent if

P(Aand B)=P(A)P(B)

Now, P(A)P(B)=(0.3)(0.3)=0.09

So, P(A\and B)\neq P(A)P(B)

The events A and B are not independent since P(A\and B)\neq P(A)P(B) .
