Since resistances B and C are connected in parallel,

Current, I = V/(9 + (B || C))

2 = V/(9 + (B || C)) ....... (1)

IB = 2C/(B + C)

2C = 1.5 B + 1.5 C

C = 3B

Equivalent resistance of B and C,

B || C = BC/(B + C) = 3B^2/4B = 0.75B

From equation (1)

2 = V/(9 + 0.75B) ...... (2)

Since total current, I = 0.75 + 0.25 = 1 A

V - 0.75B = 1 ...... (3)

From equation (2) and (3)

Resistance, RB = 12 ohm
