Pre award tasks include: bid list development, contract development, invitation to bid, bid clarification and response,bid evaluation and award

post award tasks include: deliverables packaging and execution, general administration and close out.

Pre-award contract management practices:

establishment of contract:

• panning stage includes type of specifications involved, numbers of contractors needed, the contract duration and the role of sub-contractors in procurement planning.
• A clause regarding the contract duration can be included , the project completion dates and duration can be finalized with the suggestion from bidded contractors too. many times contractors to avoid lose of projects accepts to the company suggested duration, which in turn results in rush up for completion finally missing the quality and quantity,
• Suppliers can be involved in deciding type of specifications. the materials which are available in the project location can be indentified, materials currently in trend in market can be analysed, cost comparison can be made.
• Specification development include: measurable KPIs to reduce the risk of contract disputes, cost blow-outs and poor outcomes
