Lie detection or polygraph testing relies on Autonomic System arousal. For example, when we deliver a speech, the Wernicke’s area is more excited, and when we listen to the speech, the Broca’s area is more excited. Also, the autonomic responses such as rate of respiration, cardiac activity, facial expressions can be considered as stress responses towards lying.These techniques are widely used in lie detection, and may be helpful in such situations. But still, the images reflect the person’s reaction towards any incident, but not the reasons which influenced him to react in such way.
