scanning lens has a 4x objective

diameter of the field of view at 4x is given to be 6mm

Inorder to calculate the diameter of the field of view at 40x, the following formula can be used:

diameter of field of view= known diameter * (magnification1/ magnification 2)

diameter of fiels of view= 6*(4/40)

=0.6mm
