Answer 1: As compared to other living species,human beings have had the ability to affect Earth the most. Our physical, perceptive, psychological nature mixed with our evolution, has shaped a big percentage of the planet- be it the idea of civilisation, agriculture, urbanisation, settlement, ecosystem, environment and the convenience of resources including food and shelter. We have impacted not just regional ecosystems but global ecosystems as well including global weather. This is carried on to the industrial revolution when the CO2 level rose quickly - accelerate the earth into its global warming process when added to the continuous CO2 emission that arise today. We have also caused a number of species to go extinct either directly by hunting or indirectly by affecting their ecosystem. Of all human beings, we are gifted with an innate way to create and use technology that can be simple or complicated.

Thus, in a way, as we study the planet Earth and its history, human history becomes an integral part of the process.
