Anti poaching efforts being made in Nambia

Poaching has always remained a big concern in Namibia. Whereas The Ministry of Environment and Tourism took few efforts and vows to do whatever possible to bring poaching under control .The two animals who are mostly suffer due to poaching are rhino and elephant , As their tusks and horns are huge in demand in black market .

But from 2016 poaching has been significantly reduced due to Anti poaching efforts taken by the Ministry of environment and tourism .

They have formed "Save the Rhino" trust Their approach was simple but highly effective They offer poachers a more secure livelihood as wildlife guards . As a wildlife guards and Rangers they cover the 25,000km² area to detect any suspicious activity and detect poachers from targeting rhinos .

Save the Rhino Trust’s rangers spend 21 days at a time out in the bush monitoring the rhino and elephant population, performing daily patrols across difficult terrain alongside Namibian law enforcement officers. When a rhino is spotted, the trackers photograph it, record the GPS coordinates and complete a short form , By noting down the name of the rhino its age, condition and whether it has a calf or not.

Anti-Poaching For Development (AP4D) was also formed for the support of rural development by offering scholarships for Anti Poaching and Ranger Training and also for the support Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL), Namibian Defense Force (NDF) and the Ministry of Environment & Tourism (MET) .
