The chemical equilibrium is defined as the state at which the rate of forward reaction is equals to rate of backward reaction.

For a reaction, A + B <-----> C + D

Keq  = [C][D] / [A][B]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a cell, - RT ln Keq = - n F Ecell

  Ecell = (RT/nF) ln Keq
