the surrounding power structures and politics that affect us as

individuals.

In deciding which type of music we listen to we allow certain structures to become a part of us. Discuss why

this does, or why this does not, become such an important part

of our lives.

It is the responsibility of an active citizen to be aware of the power structures and politics that surround them.

Today's politicians use creative methods and make use of art , music , advertsiement to propogate their agendas .

And citizens also utilise music as a form of resistance against the discriminating power structures .

For instance, the protest against the law of NRC and CAA was characterised by the clamors of the song "Hum Dekhenge" by Faiz

Power structures can be witnessed in the kind of music one listens to

For instance , the elite group listens to classic music mostly English , While the poverty stricken group usually listens to regional music.

Also if one has a very rigid traditional thinking , he'll prefer to listen to old country music without opening himself to experience the modern music.

It then becomes an important part of life because it reflects our personality , thought processes and beliefs.
