As conclusively as is possible, research has demonstrated that there is no link between autism and vaccines and, yet, people continue to believe the link is present. Why do you think people continue to believe this? If you were talking to someone who holds this belief, what would you say or do? Why?
Andrew Wakefield was the first researcher who claimed that his research shows that there's a clear link between vaccination and autism as well as other gastrointestinal disease. Though his research was proved to lack enough evidence his report was backed by lawsuits by parents of kids affected by autism who believed that vaccination is the cause of autism in their kids. It also had lot of media coverage. Therefore this lie is widespread and people want to link autism to certain cause that is under their control. So though it's a false belief it's a convenient one and therefore people succumb to ignorance instead.
If one meets someone with this belief one should present them with the truth of the origin of this myth. This should be done as scientific myths create large scale problems and making people aware regarding the same is of great significance.

Research has demonstrated that people tend to be attracted to others who are similar to themselves. One study demonstrated that individuals are disproportionately more likely to marry those with surnames that begin with the same last letter as their own. The researchers began by looking at marriage records and recording the surname of reach groom and the maiden name of each bride. From these records it is possible to calculate the probability of randomly matching a bride and a groom...

"Environmental Mercury, Autism Linked by New Research" reported in Environmental News Service in March 2005 that Texas researchers had found a possible link between autism and mercury in the air and water. The districts, which range from urban to small metro to rural, enroll four million Texas children. 'The main finding is...
1. I hear people talking about how a person's personality can change throughout their life depending on the people they associate themselves with and can be changed if they change their lifestyle or the people they surround themselves with. But according to Freud's development of personality theory, person's personality is established at Stage 5, seeming almost as if it is genetic. I have no actual opinion of whether it is genetics or social, but I do believe it is a...
