Think of a recent example where you have had difficulty using a website or a technology (or, if you are a help desk support tech, a person that you helped, or, if you have helped a family member/friend to use a website or a technology. Describe the occasion where you have had difficulty using a website or a technology. What was the site/technology? Why was the site/technology difficult to use (this could relate to ergonomics, human behavior, or universal usability)? How did you overcome this difficulty? Can you identify a change in the design that would have made the device, site easier to use? Pick one of the three challenges to universal usability. According to Shneiderman, what kinds of interface and information design practices could be used to overcome these challenges?
Answer)
Let us take an example of a website which when accessed had issues with its designing structure:
High School Sports in Mississippi
While accessing the high school websites of many colleges this is what was figured.
Some of the universal challenges are as follows:
1) Page load issue
2) It is not mobile friendly
3) Font size are either too small or large
4) Has links which doesn't open
5) Buttons not clickable etc
To overcome these difficulties, major enhancements and query tuning were to be made.
Some of the techniques for building better designs are as follows:
1) Padded block link
2) Type setting button
3) Contrast for managing the focus
4) Color for managing the focus and attention
5) Better line and letter spacing etc
Hope this answer helps. :)

Day in and day out, you probably depend on many different sorts of complex technological tools and innovations. Luckily, the modern world has embraced some sense of user-focused design in many of its products, so you should not need an engineering degree to operate a microwave oven or create a spreadsheet on your laptop. The most popular technology “just works” and does not require you to toil over hundreds of densely-packed pages of a user manual. Imagine sitting comfortably at...
