It is not something new when we hear the phrase "Humans are primates" based on some DNA evidence and some even go up to the extent to say that "Humans are the only primates that cry". There are different characteristics that suggests that there is a difference between the two, such as, communication, creativity, dwellings, services, mobility, etc. Let us take examples of some of these characters that define the difference between the two.
1. Humans have less porportion of the total body area that is covered by hair unlike primates such as apes.
2. The facial structure of humans include small eyebrow ridges, flat jaws and they also have larger lips as contrast to primates that have large jaw and thinner lips.
3. bipedal gait of humans in contrast to quadrupedal gait of primates.
ans 6a. : Yes, it would be very easy to distinguish a primate from a homosapien just by taking the example of walking manner, as explained above that humans are bipedal and primates are quadrupedal. So you won't find a human walking on all four limbs like an ape!
Ans 6b : HUmans will share the same characteristics and traits among themselves, some things that are not shared by other species.
6. You are a human (Homo sapiens). List three characters/traits you share with ALL HUMANS that...
2. List two characters/traits you share with ALL animals that are NOT shared by ANY plants. 2a. Consider the traits you listed in the previous question. Would any of them help you to distinguish an animal (e.g., you) from a plant (e.g., a pine tree)? Choose one: YES NO (highlight in color and bold) 2b. Consider the same animal traits. Would any of them, by themselves, help you to distinguish one species of animal from another species of animal? Choose...
Humans and Chimps share a 9,826 nucleotides out of 10,000 in
sequences. Therefore, the Human and Chimp nucleotide difference out
of 10,000 is 174. Gorillas and my new species differ by only 165
nucleotides. A) K=(-3/4)In(1-(4(0.0174)/3))=0.0176050171.
L=K/2t=0.0176050171/2(6600000)=1.33x10^-9. B)
K=(-3/4)In(1-(4(0.0165)/3))=0.0166842067. t=K/2L=0.0166842067. That
is 6.2x10^6 years ago. By using the molecular clock method to
estimate the two species, we can say that the species most likely
diverged nearly 6 million years ago. C) I am uncertain what to
write here but I...
The group of organisms humans belong to is relatively small. All living organisms share a common ancestor, as evidenced by the commonality of DNA and ribosomes. Humans are not a unique form of life. Our ability to learn about the natural world does provide us an advantage over many species, especially if we use this advantage wisely. Antibiotics are prevalent in bacteria and fungi, whereas other drugs are derived from plants. Humans are not the most common species on Earth....
A115/A140: Study Packet for The Story of the Human Body.Part .by Daniel Leiberman Sp 19 of the Human Body, Ch. 1-Introduction: What are Humans Adapted For? READ Introduction and, as a study project, trace the evolutionary history and adaptive significance of each of the following foundational adaptations, adaptive patterns that we modern humans have inherited from our n Hearing System (focus on the evolution of the mammalian hearing system Human Vision System (stereoscopic, trichromatic color vision) The Modern Human Brain...
Human Genetics Although we humans are fantastically made, are quite complex, and our traits are often coded by many genes, some traits are coded by single gene pairs. The following table is a survey to help you determine your genotype, based on phenotype traits. Keep in mind the terms homozygous dominant (AA) will have the dominant trait, homozygous recessive (aa) will have the recessive trait, and heterozygous (Aa) will have the dominant trait. If you have the dominant trait, you...

Distinguishing Between Inferences and Assumptions To be skilled in critical thinking is to be able to take one’s thinking apart systematically, to analyze each part, assess it for quality and then improve it. The first step in this process is understanding the parts of thinking, or elements of reasoning. These elements are: purpose, question, information, inference, assumption, point of view, concepts, and implications. They are present in the mind whenever we reason. To take command of our thinking, we need...

Amazon to Competition: We Will Crush You! Amazon to Employees: We Will Churn You! Globally, Amazon is one of the largest and most successful companies in any industry. Technological innovation has contributed to its success, as has its employee acquisition practices, which are exceptionally high. The question is what has allowed this company to thrive and maintain its success? This activity is important because it shows how companies like Amazon hire based on personality and individual differences. Such companies place...
