Answer #1

The given graph f(x) (say) is that of a parabola centered at (0,-1) .

The function f(x) is increasing (positive rate of change)  i.e, f'(x)>0 in interval (0,0) .

The function f(x) is decreasing (negative rate of change)  i.e, f'(x)<0 in interval {\color{Blue} (-\infty ,0)} .

The function f(x) has global minimum (rate of change is 0)   i.e, f'(x)=0 at {\color{Blue} x=0} .
