While resting the muscle comes to resting position and get stretched. By stretching the muscle gain its ideal stretching length and in this position it attains the power of maximum muscle contraction. There is a relationship between isometric twitch with the time period and the muscle tention with the resting muscle length.

The first figure shows isometric twitch over the time (Force in scale of Newtons in y axis and time in msec is not mentioned in the x axis.

The second picture showing relationship of tension or force of contraction over muscle length where muscle length in mm is not mentioned in X axis. The length determines the joint angle for optimum torque.
