Regarding the following above, I understand what cycloheximide, neomycin, DDA, and actinomycin D does to flagella, however, regarding the inhibitor mechanism I'm not sure whether they'd like for us to discuss the mechanisms behind it and I am also uncertain on the targets of each and whether which one inhibits signal transduction.
Actinomycin D , Neomycin slectively inhibit RNA synthesis and cycloheximide slectively inhibits protien synthesis during differentiation. this is because these inhibitors stops translation or transcription. Protien synthesis stops as a result regenration stops. these inhibitors prevents differentiation but sometimes do not block these protien synthesis or RNA synthesis. Sometimes these inhiibitors no effect on initial rate but the flagella lenths are different in the presense of these inhibitors.Neomycin inhibits signal transduction.Enzymes required for producing protiens are the targets of these inhibitors.
