Q1: Nowadays most of the radio player are digital, but still the analog audio signal is transmitted and converted to digital signal. Discuss why and how it is converted? (10Marks)
The analog signal is transmitted and converted to digital signal because for long distance communication in analog signal which suffer many losses such as distortion, interference and other losses.. So to overcome these problem the signal is digitized using different method. The digitized signals allow the communication to be more clear and accurate without losses. We can convert analog to digital at the input side by using input transducer .. And today most of the radio player are digital but still the analog signal is transmitted because analog data is used for wide frequency width while digital data is used for narrow frequency width.... If any doubt then you can ask in comment

The left and right channels of an analog stereo audio signal are sampled at 44.1- ksample/s rate, with each channel then being converted into a digital bit stream using a 10-bit A/D converter. Determine the combined bit rate of the two channels after sampling and digitization.
Assume that an analog audio voice-frequency (VF) telephone signal m(t) occupies a band from 300 Hz to 3000 Hz. The signal is to be converted to a PCM signal for transmission over a digital telephone system. The signal is sampled at a rate 33.3% higher than the Nyquist rate. The maximum acceptable quantizatiorn error is 2% of the peak amplitude of m(t). The quantized samples are binary coded. Find the minimum bandwidth B of a noiseless channel required to transmit...

Problem #5 In an audio CD, the audio voltage signal is typically sampled about 44,000 times per second, and the value of each sample is recorded on the CD surface as a binary number. In other words, each recorded binary number represents a single voltage point on the audio signal waveform. (a) If the binary numbers are ten bits in length, how many different voltage values can be represented by a single binary number?...
3. (3pts x 5pbs-15pts) An analog sinusoidal signal must be converted into digital form. The 10V and n time te-2us. The frequency of the signal to be converted is f-12kHz and its 8-bit A/D converter used for this conversion has end of scale value equal to peak-to-peak amplitude equals the dynamic range of the A/ID converter
Q1 Marks: 40 A digital communication system has 96 analog telephone signals, each band limited to 4 kHz. The telephone signals are converted to digital binary data using Pulse Code Modulator (PCM) system, which use a uniform quantiser followed by an 8-bit encoder. The system uses two bits for synchronization. The digital binary data are then time-division multiplexed and transmitted over a single communication channel. Analyse the communication system by considering the following principles: (i) Determine the number of quantization...
