Answer #1

1) Cells are not huge because if they are huge they may not be able to diffuse through the body and the demand for nutrients increases, they need more oxygen compared to the small cells, they have a small surface area compares to its volume. Thus, the cells are so small so that they can easily diffuse through the body and their ratio of surface area to volume can be maximized

2). Volume is a measure of 3 dimensions(cm3) and surface area is the measure of 2 dimensions(cm2). So less surface area is present for diffusion per unit volume in a big cell.

polar covalent bond- It is a type of covalent bond in which there is an uneven sharing of electrons between two atoms to form a bond

non-polar covalent bond- It is a type of chemical bond where a pair of electron is equally shared between the two atoms

ionic bond- It is a type of chemical bond between two ions of opposite charges i.e a bond is formed between a positively charged ion and a negatively charged ions.

hydrogen bond- It is an attractive force between hydrogen and the electronegative atoms of other molecules present in the same substance or the different substance

The hydrogen bond is formed when a molecule's positive end is attracted towards the negative end of another molecule.

Functional groups

Alcohol- The functional group found in alcohol is hydroxyl group i.e OH( an oxygen bound to a hydrogen atom)

Ketone- ketone consists of carbonyl functional group i.e C=O( carbon double bond to an oxygen)

Proteins- proteins consists of many functional groups such as carboxylic acids, thiols, thioethers etc.
