Answer #1

   Fast switching improves on process switching by making use of a cache.
   The first packet to a destination is still process switched but the result of this switching,is stored in the Fast Cache. Now from the from the fast cache,the future packets to this destination will be switched , thus improving on the speed.With this we have the concept of reeusablity ,so the processor doesn’t have to look up and assemble all the information again.and load balancing over equal-cost paths is on a per-destination basis.
   We can enables the fast switching of packets out of the same interface on which they arrived using the below command:
   Router(config-if)# ip route-cache same-interface

*/switchmode access*/

   /*Switch mode access*/
   The switch mode access command assigns the port to a VLAN,it puts the port into a state that can access regular network traffic on whatever VLAN is specified.
   It statically disables trunking on the port, which defaults to dynamic trunk.
   Using the "switchport mode access" command ,we force the port to be an access port, no exceptions.
   A device plugged into this port enables communication with other devices that are in the same VLAN.
