In humans, and vertebrates, tubular secretion occurs in kidneys, where the blood gets filtered occurs in specialized nephrons. The process of tubular secretion isused to remove toxins, drugs or compounds like potassium, hydrogen, urea.Tubular secretion occurs by active transport.

Urine formation occurs during : Filtration, Reabsorption and Secretion. It is only during the process of secretion that the substances like drugs and toxins are removed from blood through the peritubular capillary network into the collecting duct. The end product of this is Urine.
