Answer. In terms of structure three type of chromosomes are:-

1. Telocentric

2. Acrocentric

3. Metacentric

It is based on the position of the centromere on the chromosomes.

Telocentric:- In telocentric chromosomes centromere is located at the end of the chromosomes. In appearance it look like a rod shaped structure. None, of the human chromosomes is telocentric.

Acrocentric:- The acrocentric chromosomes have the centromere almost at one end. It leads to one arm is very short and one very long.

Metacentric:- Metacentric chromosome have a centromere in the middle of the chromosome.
