The climate change is mainly caused by the human beings. The use of fossil fuels are a reason. The increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere from about 280 ppm to 400 ppm is an evidence. Carbon dioxide is the heat trapping gas. More the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, more heat would be trapped as the gas forms a layer above, that doesn't let the Earth to radiate back the heat.
The extraction as well as burning of fossil fuels are leading to
an increase in the carbon dioxide level. Scientists can distinguish
between the carbon dioxide coming from natural sources and the ones
from the combustion by determining the proportion of the lighter
and the heavier atoms of
13C.
13C has decreased and carbon dioxide has increased to a level from
where we can't return. From this the scientists could comclude that
the climate change is caused by the human use of fossil fuels.
Explain the evidence that shows that climate change is caused by human use of fossil fuels.
Human use of fossil fuel is causing rapid global climate change. Will species adapt or become extinct as a result? Is there any evidence that species populations are adapting, or failing to adapt, to contemporary climate change? POSSIBLE THESIS STATEMENT
Scientists are convinced that the burning of fossil fuels is contributing to global climate change, which will harm future economic growth. 2. How would a mainstream economist explain the choice of whether or not to devote resources to renewable energy?
Scientists are convinced that the burning of fossil fuels is contributing to global climate change, which will harm future economic growth. 4. Why do you think the United States devotes fewer resources to renewable energy than many other developed countries?
What lines of evidence support climate change? (Include at least 3 and explain each.) People often ask if climate change caused a weather event. Is it possible to answer such questions? Why or why not? Please provide an example and an explanation on how climate change has influenced a weather event. (Example: Hurricane Harvey) After finding an example, what evidence did the scientist use to connect the extreme weather event to human-induced climate change? What was the reason why Peter...
The ozone layer is Essential for life on earth Caused by the use of fossil fuels Located in the troposphere Natural filter for UV radiation Both A and D are correct Greenhouse gases Trap air in the troposphere and warm the Earth Are not related to human activities c. Absorb UV radiation coming from the sun Absorb heat released from Earth's surface, which later warms the Earth's surface 1. Sources that are scattered and diffuse and cannot be traced to...
1. Stop Burning Fossil Fuels Immediately (presented by WhaleHuggers, an environmentally-focused nonprofit) The burning of fossil fuels for energy, transportation, and manufacturing purposes is out of control and identified by the scientific community as a primary driver of climate change. Emissions from these fossil fuels significantly increase the concentration of atmosphere-warming greenhouse gases. It is the moral responsibility of governments across the globe, but especially developed and first-world countries, to immediately curtail these greenhouse gas emissions by rigorously pursuing alternative...
Review the long-term atmospheric CO2 record. What evidence is there that burning of fossil fuels is responsible for recent increases in atmospheric CO2 concentrations? Describe why rapid changes in global temperatures will likely lead to the extinction of large numbers of species? How might changes in global temperatures specifically affect each of The Anolis lizards we studied this semester The Gorongosa ecosystem What are two ways human societies can mitigate these impacts on large scales now?
Select a human-caused environmental issue (for example, climate change, species extinction, etc.) and research it further. Find a reliable, useful website that discusses the human impacts to the environment caused by this issue. Share the website by writing a full paragraph summary (150 words minimum) of what you have learned or have found particularly helpful when reviewing the website. This blog should be written in your own words. Include a link to the website.
) It is necessary to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy. This requires putting a price on the emission of carbon. Only governmental policies coordinated among the nations of the world can accomplish this goal. What did the Kyoto Accord propose and how successful was it? What did the Paris Agreement propose and how successful was it? Explain what you think the future holds? https://www.e-education.psu.edu/meteo469/node/185 4) What role do you think religion plays in our need to address climate...
