1. As Ezra’s manager, I would not have allowed Ezra to quit the company. As a manager, it is my prime responsibility to ensure that employees in all the different departments are provided equal opportunities for growth. Employees should be provided opportunities for growth to retain talented employees and obtain the Return on Investments (ROI). The managers play a crucial role in ensuring that the Cost to Company (CTC) have sufficient ROI on the training provided to the employees. Also, it is an added cost to recruit new employees and provide them with training.
2. The changes that I would recommend in the educational aid program are that the learning acquired by the employee should be used by them for the advantage of the firm. It is obvious that all the skills and knowledge that Ezra had acquired can be used successfully in other firms. Hence, employees such as Ezra who have gained through the educational aid program should be contracted with the department. The contract should state that the employee works for the benefit of the firm for a contract period of about 5 years. This way, the education aid program provided to the employees shows sufficient ROI.
Note- If you like the answer, please provide an up-vote as it would be quite encouraging for me. Thank you.
