Answer #1

10)

A) Pneumatic Actuators

These are the devices which converts energy in the form of compressed air or a gas into linear or rotary motion depending on the type of actuator.

B) Permanent Magnet DC motor also called PMDC motor

It is a motor which has a permanent magnet pole. The following figure shows a PMDC motor

  Parmanent Magnet Rotor N (b)The figure (a) is a 2-pole motor and figure (b) is a 4-pole motor

The principle of operation is same as that of normal working DC motor which is, When a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences a mechanical force. In PMDC, the armature is placed inside the magnetic field of a permanent magnet. When a force is generated the armature rotates in its direction. Armature consists of many conductors and the cumulation of the experienced force produces a Torque.
