How would you communicate with someone that holds a different view than yourself in a way that is logically sound but does not deny the human dignity of the other person?

It's easy to win an argument but loosing the person with whom we are arguing will be imminent. Everyone knows that it's hard to win both the argument and the person. There are few ways to argue effectively and convincingly without hurting and losing the person.
Focus on the content and not the person - It's really important not to get into personal when one is in an argument. The focus should be on what's been discussed and not on who is discussing it. Focusing on the person will bring personal comments and thus mar the entire purpose of a constructive argument or discussion.

Listen completely before arguing - Most of the time, in an argument, people tend to speak before listening what the other person says. This jumping to talk before the other person means, they are preparing their next argument in their minds when the other person was talking. This rehearsal of reply while listening will be very judgemental. So listen completely and digest what the other person is saying before answering.

Shed your ego - People want to win an argument, so, they stick to their ego even when they know that the other person is right. This egotistical participation in an argument will not be healthy and productive because one has already decided not to accept anything open mindedly because of their ego.
Avoid commenting negatively - Staying positively and commenting positively will create a friendly atmosphere and convince the other person in the argument easily without hurting them. Negative comments will discourage the other person and they might also become negative.
